LE GLOBAL EDUCATION COUNTDOWN AU MIPTV
Paris, le 22 mars 2013 Lancien premier ministre britannique Gordon Brown, aujourdhui envoy spcial des Nations Unies pour lducation dans le monde, prsentera au MIPTV linitiative Global Education First, au cours dune session de haut niveau qui se droulera le mercredi 10 avril, Cannes.
Cette session sera suivie dun djeuner VIP consacr au Countdown for Global Education, qui marquera le dbut du compte rebours de 1 000 jours jusqu la date limite que la communaut internationale sest fixe pour que chaque enfant dans le monde soit scolaris, en 2015.
Organis par Reed MIDEM, le MIPTV 2013 se droulera Cannes du 8 au 11 avril.
Alors que le MIPTV fte son 50me anniversaire, le temps est venu pour le march international des contenus de fournir une plateforme lindustrie de la tlvision pour dmontrer sa capacit conduire un changement social positif. Grce des partenariats avec le Global Education First Initiative des Nations Unies, lensemble de lcosystme global de la tlvision pourra soutenir cette campagne et prendre une part active la grande cause de lducation.
Il est urgent de crer un mouvement international qui fera pression sur les dirigeants du monde pour faire de lducation une priorit et pour veiller ce quil tiennent leurs promesses dclare Gordon Brown. Nous voyons dj les prmices de cette communaut globale, mais lindustrie de la tlvision un norme rle jouer pour toucher les gens aux quatre coins du monde et pour partager cette cause de manire accessible et intressante.
Le MIPTV est trs heureux de soutenir cette cause exceptionnelle, qui mobilisera lcosystme global de la tlvision et des rseaux numriques pour crer un impact fort et offrir une contribution relle la communaut internationale, souligne Laurine Garaude, Directrice de la Division Tlvision chez Reed MIDEM.
Le MIPTV est le lieu idal, avec le meilleur auditoire, pour accueillir linitiative Global Education First. Lassociation entre les Nations Unies et lindustrie de la tlvision autour de lducation est un partenariat gagnant-gagnant dclare Peter Launsky-Tieffenthal, Secrtaire Gnral Adjoint la Communication et lInformation des Nations Unies.
Pendant cette session, qui dbutera par un message vido du Secrtaire Gnral de lONU, Ban Ki-moon, plusieurs intervenants prestigieux et dhorizons trs divers parleront du pouvoir de changer les choses que possde la tlvision. David Zaslav, Prsident et CEO de Discovery Communications, la plus grande socit de mdias hors fiction du monde, parlera du pouvoir de la tlvision en faveur de lenseignement. Discovery a dj apport un soutien important linitiative Global Education First des Nations Unies, ainsi qu dautres programmes similaires.
Lentrepreneur social et ancien dirigeant de Microsoft John Wood, CEO et fondateur de Room to Read une organisation qui promeut lgalit des sexes et lalphabtisation dans les pays en dveloppement , voquera le pouvoir que possde la tlvision dinspirer laction.
Le pouvoir de catalyser un mouvement grce la tlvision sera le thme abord par Robert Triefus, Chief Marketing Officer du groupe de produits de luxe Gucci, qui a lanc la campagne internationale Chime for Change, axe sur le pouvoir et lautonomisation des femmes et des jeunes filles. Gucci sponsorise galement le djeuner VIP Countdown for Global Education qui suivra la session, modre par Peter Launsky-Tieffenthal, le Secrtaire Gnral Adjoint la Communication et lInformation des Nations Unies.
Les participants cette session entendront galement Ziauddin Yousafzai, le pre de Malala Yousafzai. Malala est la jeune fille pakistanaise qui est devenue une figure emblmatique pour le droit des filles lducation aprs quelle ait reu une balle dans la tte, tire par les talibans lan dernier, pour tre simplement alle lcole. Militant de longue date en faveur de lducation, Ziauddin Yousafzai gre un rseau dcoles au Pakistan et il est conseiller de Gordon Brown, lenvoy spcial des Nations Unies, sur les questions lies lducation des filles.
