Music Expo confirms Miami lineup

Final list of speakers & seminar programme announced

Just some of the speakers appearing at Music Expo Miami on March 30th.

In association with Sound On Sound, the next Music Expo, the industry networking event specifically for music creatives, is taking place at the end of this month, supported by Yamaha and Steinberg. The final list of guest producers and engineers has now been announced, along with the panel and tutorial programme for the event, which is being held at the SAE Institute in Miami. Alongside the keynote speaker, Grammy-winning producer Gary Noble (Nas, Amy Winehouse) who was announced last month and will be leading a presentation on mixing in the box, these movers and shakers are now confirmed, alongside many more, for the following events on Saturday March 30th:

Production team The Pushers (Kendrick Lamar, Lil Wayne, John Legend), will be breaking down one of their beats live in front of Expo attendees, with assistance from Quazo, the engineer at Miamis 5020 Studios;

Steinberg are hosting a session on using your DAW to overcome creative blocks and create new chord sequences and innovative arrangements;

Key figures from Interscope Records, Pandora and more will introduce Get Your Money, a panel on the USs Music Modernisation Act, legislation that potentially opens many new revenue streams for musicians but is not widely understood. Topics covered include distributing your music more widely and collecting royalties;

Grammy-winning producer/engineer Paul Echo Irizarry (Pitbull, Ricky Martin, Paulina Rubio) leads a session on the recent mainstream success of Spanish-language pop, Urbano, and the implications for latin prodiucers and artists. With contributions from A&R Txema Rosique and producers Guillermo Lefeld and James Joubran of Hit Central Records;

Maria Elisa Ayerbe (Marc Anthony, JLo) presents a drum mixing masterclass in association with Leapwing Audio;

Frank Socorro (Mary J Blige, Cee-Lo) leads a mixing and mastering workshop, making use of Izotopes Ozone 8 and Neutron 2;

Last but not least, there will be an Ask Me Anything Q&A session designed to offer attendees the opportunity to pick the brains of some of the Expos creative speakers, including ill factor, Jeff Straw, and Frank Socorro.

Alongside the big-name creative pros, the Miami Expo will feature expanded participation from key players in the music industry for the first time, with executives from Deezer, Warner Chappell, and collection and licensing agency SoundExchange, as well as high-ranking representatives from Latin labels RichMusic, Seitrack US and Sony Music Latin amongst others.
