Flame Artist Judy Roberts joins Finish

Finish are delighted to announce the latest addition to their team, Flame Artist Judy Roberts. Fellow flame artist and company co-founder Jason Watts, comments that Judy is unquestionably one of the best Flame artists in the industry. Not only is she technically very capable, she has a great eye for detail and that unteachable' instinctive knack for making shots look better. She has a wealth of experience, understands clients and has a great work ethic. What more could you want in an op? Oh, did I mention she's extremely nice to work with?'

Originally seeking out some kind of creative, editing type role Judy started out her career as a receptionist at Framestore, where she badgered people into teaching her the equipment as well as spending her evenings and weekends teaching herself.

I loved Flame, it was new and technical. Id seen a demo and just fell in love with it. I got offered a job working under Jon Hollis and Tom Sparks at Smoke & Mirrors which had only been running a year. It was all Flame, so I was in heaven. It was a steep learning curve but I learnt so much and spent every spare minute teaching and training myself. There I worked with Daniel Kleinman (on The World Is Not Enough title sequence amongst other projects), as well as working across promos for the likes of Jonathan Glazier and Patricia Murphy.'

After five years at Smoke & Mirrors Judy moved on to The Mill. She comments that there was such a buzz about commercials at that time, so much creative work out there and I loved the buzz of the turnaround times. Ive always enjoyed that challenge, I think its why I prefer commercials over long form work.' Whilst there Judy worked on big campaigns for brands like Walkers, Eurostar and Heineken for Directors including Paul Weiland, Danny Kleinman, Matthijs Van Heijningen and Joaquin Baca-Asay.

Judy goes on to add that combining my career with motherhood was probably the greatest challenge and involved taking on part-time and freelance work. Throughout this period Finish was the place I always wanted to join, so when the role came up I was delighted. I love being part of the shoot, the lead up and the creative process. Its great to be more involved in the projects and the company. Finish has a great ethos about its work, its clients and its employees.

Since joining the company she has worked on high profile projects for Diet Coke, Sony PS Vita, and the Cannes Lions winning Dove (Camera Shy).
