Top SA film talent to attend Indie Karoo Film Festival 2016 --

This years Indie Karoo Film Festival, taking place from 29 June to 3 July in Prince Albert, will host some of South Africa s most prominent film and acting talent, who will attend various events as well present a series of workshops and discussions.
With its focus on South African films and filmmakers, the Indie Karoo Film Festival will welcome world-renowned South African director Gavin Hood, who will host a Q&A after the screening of his latest critically acclaimed film, Eye in the Sky.
Other guests in attendance will include festival judges Gerard Rudolf, well known actor and poet; film director Jozua Malherbe; award winning actresses Rolanda Marais; and Lida Botha, a South African stalwart of theatre, radio and stage. Film Director Koos Roets will also be in attendance along with Daniel Dercksen from The Writing Studio, who will present a script-writing workshop.
The festival has announced a special screening of the film Boers at the End of the World with the filmmakers in attendance. Another highlight of the festival will be the premiere of the South African film Twee Grade van Moord (Two Degrees of Murder) to be screened at the festival s flagship venue, The Showroom Theatre. This Afrikaans feature film produced by Barry Strick and directed by Gerrit Schoonhoven, who will attend the premiere, is a gripping drama that sees the on-screen reunion of two prominent South African talents, Sandra Prinsloo and Marius Weyers.
Another highlight of this year s festival is the inclusion of a new award, The Golden Aloe Audience Award, that will be voted for by festival goers. Voting will take place through the Prince Albert Great Karoo App that can be downloaded from the iTunes app store.
The Indie Karoo Film Festival screenings will take place at four venues: The Showroom Theatre, the Zwartberg High, the Jans Rautenbach Schouwburg and the Sidwell Williams Centre.
