Techtel Delivers Next-Gen Broadcast Studio for Australian Institute of Company Directors

Sydney, 23 June 2025 - Techtel, a leading broadcast systems integrator in the Asia-Pacific, has proudly completed the rebuild and upgrade of the Australian Institute of Company Directors' (AICD) Sydney studio, following water damage to the original space last year.

As a long-standing Techtel client, AICD entrusted the team to deliver a leaner, more intuitive studio that meets the evolving needs of their high-calibre content - from webinars and podcasts to panel discussions and live events. The newly rebuilt studio combines flexibility, broadcast-grade technology, and creative craftsmanship to offer a professional environment tailored to both in-house and remote production workflows.

A standout feature of the upgraded studio is a new 5x5 Retop HIPADII 1.5mm Pixel Pitch LED video wall, supported by the Novastar H2 processor. The LED wall gives AICD wider viewing angles and pixel-perfect imagery with our Panasonic UE160 cameras, plus the flexibility to dynamically adapt their visual sets. To support seamless, high-quality video production,

Techtel integrated the Quicklink StudioPro 8 - a powerful yet easy-to-use vision mixer designed to simplify live switching and remote conferencing, ideal for non-technical users.

Adding to the studio's uniqueness is a custom-designed webinar desk by sculptor Sam Creecy, made from recycled timber. Reusing these materials gives the piece warmth and integrity - values I believe reflect AICD's vision, said Creecy.

Techtel also installed a new lighting grid built using premium Velvet LED panels, and implemented comprehensive acoustic treatment to enhance sound quality. The audio system includes Shure radio mics, a Yamaha DM3 mixer, and a Dante-enabled networked audio workflow.

The studio features a TVLogic LVM181S - a broadcast-grade wide viewing LCD multi format monitor. New camera acquisitions include 2x Panasonic UE160s, equipped with anti-moir filters ideal for LED screens, and a Sony FX6 for cinematic-style shots.

The upgraded AICD studio is now live and ready to support the Institute's growing content strategy with a state-of-the-art professional space designed for enhanced versatility, simplicity, and ease of use.
