Pomfort, a leading provider of professional software solutions for digital media assets and color management in motion picture and broadcast production, today released an extensive update with over 100 new features to its industry leading software products Livegrade Pro and Livegrade Studio.
The new version 5.2 of Livegrade introduces a wide range of enhancements to the core color grading tools including all conventional color curve modes, adds integration for Elgato Stream Deck devices, dramatically simplifies the management of shots with smart groups, and allows the exchange of look information via the newly introduced cloud-based system ShotHub.
DITs and colorists working on set with Livegrade will find the highly requested RGB-Curve and Hue-Sat-Lum Vs. curve tools that give them more creative grading options than ever before. The new curves interface allows to add creative looks like Bleach Bypass or Orange & Teal in seconds or to modify specific colors to perform subtle tweaks to a specific area of the image.
Livegrade 5.2 comes common secondary grading tools like HSL curves that let users modify specific colors depending on the parameters hue, saturation and luma by applying precise bezier curve adjustments. The Livegrade 5.2 update furthermore includes support for ACES 1.2 transforms, making it easier to get consistent results, especially when working in workflows with managed pipelines.
Livegrade also introduces powerful new features that customers have asked for across the rest of the application. Livegrade 5.2 lets users map and trigger Livegrade actions from Stream Deck devices to tremendously speed up repetitive tasks and ultimately the entire on set workflow. With its collection of over 200 shortcut icons along with pre-built profiles the Stream Deck will fit well next to any control panel so that users will get up and running more faster.
On top of that Livegrade 5.2 tremendously facilitates to structure and to manage shot libraries. The opportunity to create smart group folders based on desired metadata entries helps to filter and to retrieve looks or reference media in a very efficient and flexible way. This way users can create hierarchy levels and a meaningful outline to be always on top of their continuously growing shot libraries.
Livegrade 5.2 is a comprehensive and powerful release that we think both on set colorists and DITs are going to love, said Wanja Nolte, Product Manager at Pomfort. We've built in advanced color grading features customers have been asking for and, with the addition of device integration for Stream Deck and the new cloud based look exchange functionalities, we think that Livegrade makes the next big step to further support the production workflows more efficiently. We therefore fulfil our aim to stay the state-of-the art software to control and create images live on set.
Features in Livegrade Pro 5.2 and Livegrade Studio 5.2:
New Grading Controls and Color Curve Modes based on RGB and Luma allow precise color curve adjustment for creating appealing looks like bleach bypass with ease
Smart Groups for Library Management to structure and filter shot libraries based on desired metadata fields, also using predefined metadata layouts
ShotHub Cloud Integration allows users to automatically upload look information and projects from one or multiple Livegrade instances with shot information, including thumbnails to ShotHub
Stream Deck Plugin to map and trigger Livegrade actions from your Stream Deck devices

Livegrade Pro V5: Unrivaled Technical Control For Creative Immediacy On Set
Livegrade Pro is the state-of-the-art software solution that addresses all digital imaging-related requirements of the camera department. The software enables immediate visualisation and sharing of the DP's and Director's artistic intent.
Its complete scalability and superior integration with various camera workflows and setups have made it an integral part of TV, commercial and cinema productions. Around the globe DITs and DOPs rely on Livegrade to simplify their creative workflow and enhance on-set collaboration.
Creative Intent and Image Control
Image control and color grading on set needs to balance the respect for the creative intent with technical requirements for maintaining visual consistency between shots and scenes. Examples for that are the adjustment of the digital look under different lighting situations, the compensation of exposure decisions, and the correction of different lenses' color cast needs.
Camera Metadata and Look Information in the Shot Library
Livegrade records media and collects metadata from a broad range of sources - from the cameras itself via HD-SDI, through remote network connections, or manually edited by the operator. All this information combined with the looks created in LiveGrade Pro is automatically stored in Livegrade Pro's Shot Library. That information can be used for looking up camera
settings of previously shot scenes, for displaying reference images for consistency of cinematography, or for communicating reports to colleagues on set and beyond. This makes it easy for DPs, DITs and Second Units to keep track of all shot-related information throughout the shooting day.
