On 7 January the Directors Guild of America (DGA) announced the feature film nominees for its 66th annual awards ceremony taking place on 25 January in Los Angeles.

Alfonso Cuar n, Paul Greengrass and Steve McQueen are first-time DGA nominees, while David O. Russell received his second nomination and Martin Scorsese has been nominated for the eleventh time.

Scorsese won the DGA for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Feature Film in 2006 for The Departed.

He has been previously nominated for Taxi Driver (1976), Raging Bull (1980), Goodfellas (1990), The Age of Innocence (1993), Gangs of New York (2002), The Aviator (2004) and Hugo (2011).

He received the DGA Lifetime Achievement Award in 2003.

The Wolf of Wall Street starts screening nationwide in South Africa on 10 January through Crystal Brook Distribution.
