DTS Expands Relationship with vivo - Adds DTS-HD Streaming Capabilities to Content Service CALABASAS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- DTS, Inc. (Nasdaq: DTSI), a leader in high-definition audio solutions and audio enhancement technologies, today announced that it has expanded its relationship with premium Chinese smartphone brand, vivo, to begin delivering content in DTS-HD via its digital content service partner, Xunlei. Now, vivo customers can stream content mixed in DTS-HD to their Headphone:X equipped smartphones, and enjoy it in full surround sound over headphones.

DTS-HD is a high performance discrete audio codec designed specifically to enable streaming services to deliver content to connected devices in immersive surround sound.

It isnt until you experience Headphone:X for the first time that you truly understand the impact of delivering multi-channel audio content to mobile devices, said Brian Towne, executive vice president and chief operating officer of DTS. Neuroscience studies have proven that the immersive sound provided by Headphone:X keeps viewers more engaged by providing a more enjoyable and memorable media experience.

DTS Headphone:X expands and focuses sound far beyond the boundaries of a pair of headphones, allowing listeners to hear their favorite content as if it was coming from multiple speakers located around and above them, with a higher degree of accuracy than was ever before possible.
