IBC is where the future of the global media and entertainment industry is defined. Leading the technology presentations at IBC 2023 (15 18 September, RAI Amsterdam) is a group of no fewer than 33 leading UK companies, participating with the GREAT Britain and Northern Ireland group on pavilions, in halls 1, 6, 7, 8 and independently in halls 5 and 10.
These companies span the complete spectrum of products and services, reflecting the challenges and opportunities that the worldwide media industry faces today. Tradefair is the organiser of the pavilion and will once again provide the administration, on-ground support and promotion of the group at IBC. All the companies participating will benefit from the expertise of the Tradefair team who manage the entire process, allowing them to focus on their businesses.
AntennaWare (8.B77a) is showing BodyWave, the only commercial antenna designed for wearables like concealed body microphones. Aqua Broadcast (8.B77e) is a young but very successful company, using innovative design and engineering in transmitters and audio processors. Blue Lucy (6.C29a) will focus on BLAM Blue Lucy for Media providing rich automation for complex production environments. Coralbay.tv (7.A09e) develops next generation playout products, using the latest in microservices and cloud technologies for maximum efficiency.
Christy Media (10.A03) specialises in recruitment and executive search for the broadcast and media industry. CRM.com (1.C37d) offers monetisation solutions for media businesses, providing enterprise-class subscription billing and eWallet-based promotions. Disk Archive Corporation (7.A09c) delivers high availability and secure archives, along with content libraries tailored to the needs of broadcast and media. Dizplai (5.C62) provides the cloud-hosted tools for live content creators to focus on producing engaging viewer experiences.
Eddystone Broadcast (8.B77c) is a leader in FM transmitters, built around a common modular design with hot-swappable power amplification. Emotion Systems (6.C28a) develops innovative file-based audio automation tools to prepare media for international distribution, including loudness management and file conversion. FlixForge (1.C37h) delivers comprehensive, scalable and secure OTT streaming platforms, allowing broadcasters to monetise content effortlessly. GB Labs (7.A09a) is a leader in intelligent and scalable shared storage to power and protect creative workflows.
Hitomi (10.A42) manufactures MatchBox, the recognised standard tool worldwide for measuring latency and synchronisation errors across circuits. Imagen (5.D44) is a cloud-native asset management platform, designed to manage, enrich and distribute mission-critical video files. Kineton Europe (1.C37f) provides innovative solutions for the media industry to optimise content creation and distribution. Knotty Ash Woodworking (6.C19) provides bespoke furniture for studios and control rooms that combines functionality with striking aesthetics.
LEN (1.C37) is a leader in passive signal enhancement wherever a signal must be transmitted, enhanced, cleaned, split or combined, LEN has the answer. Media Technology Asia (1.C37) provides consultancy on media distribution, and regulation and standards. Open Broadcast Systems (1.A40c) supplies encoding and decoding for contribution and distribution circuits for premium video content. Ortana Media Group (6.C28b) offers a range of content-centric automation orchestration software to meet any media workflow.
Polar Graphics (6.C28c) distributes the very best in graphics, storage, automation, and workflow products. Radica Broadcast Systems (8.B77f) provides the foundation of any successful radio station, the transmission system, from consultancy to installation and maintenance. RioVIDEO (1.A40a) supplies flexible and scalable compression systems for high quality IPTV and OTT headends. RJS Electronics (7.A09b) specialises in critical user components like push button switches with LED illumination.
Salsa Sound (8.B77d) applies artificial intelligence to audio production, rapidly rising to prominence through automatic tools to add convincing crowd sounds when the pandemic emptied stadiums. Sandbox (10.A01) focuses on scaling and transforming businesses through fun, educational and relevant content. Spacepath Communications (1.C37a) designs, manufactures, and supports a broad range of uplink amplifiers and associated equipment for satellite operators. Speechmatics (8.B77b) is a leader in highly accurate speech recognition.
Tellyo (1.C37e) will be showcasing its web-based video production, editing, streaming and distribution platform. TMD (7.A09d) puts you in control of your media supply chain with its powerful Mediaflex-UMS software platform. Total Media Cast (1.C37b) offers media industry management consultancy, along with crewing services and satellite bandwidth leasing. Trint (1.C37c) is an AI-powered SaaS platform that allows users to quickly craft narratives from transcribed audio or video. And Yotta Media (1.C37g) technical consultancy, as well as development, cloud services and more.
The group has grown significantly again this year and is close to what it was pre-Covid, said Mark Birchall, Managing Director of Tradefair.
