GoPro Athlete Ken Roczen Wins Anaheim I Supercross

GoPro-supported Troy Lee Designs/Lucas Oil/Red Bull/KTMs Jessy Nelson takes his first Lites Win

Staying true to form, GoPro athletes took the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series opener by storm, clinching wins in both the Lites and 450 class inside Angel Stadium this weekend. RCH Soaring Eagle/Jimmy Johns Suzukis Ken Roczen lit the candles at the finish line of the 450 class Main Event. After a solid third-place start, Roczen quickly took over the lead before the end of the opening lap. From there, K-Roc packed his bags and checked out. Leading from wire to wire, Roczen went unchallenged on his first ride aboard the RCH Suzuki RM-Z450 after making a team change in the off-season. Heading into Round 2 in Phoenix, Arizona, Roczen has the points lead and the momentum to continue his charge.

After a strong showing in his heat race, Jessy Nelson jumped off the gate for the Western Regional Lites class Main Event, winning the holeshot and taking the early lead. Riding smooth and calculated, Nelson steadily pulled away from his competition as the 15 laps clicked by. When the checkered flag flew, Nelson sealed his first win as a professional Supercross racer, giving Troy Lee Design/Lucas Oil/Red Bull/KTM their first win of the season and igniting positive momentum heading into the second round of the season.

Next week, the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series heads to Phoenix, Arizona, where the sports elite will take to the track inside Chase Field. GoPro will be there cheering on Ken Roczen, Davi Millsaps, and THe Troy Lee Designs team, as they battle to raise their GoPro-mounted helmets in celebration on the podium.
