Charmaine Lautr appointed as cinema post-producer at Refinery in Johannesburg --

Charmaine Lautr , well known to the film industry from her former roles as general manager at The Film Lab and post-production supervisor at Videovision Entertainment, has joined Johannesburg-based post-production facility Refinery as their cinema post-producer.
Recently, Lautr worked with Refinery as the deliveries post-producer on SAF3, an American TV series from the creator of Baywatch. Delivered to 23 countries worldwide, SAF3 was the first time an American TV series of this scale was delivered internationally from South Africa.
Says Lautr : Refinery was my post facility of choice during my time with Videovision. I worked with them on a daily basis while with The Film Lab, so my new role feels like a natural transition.
With over 35 years in the industry. Charmaine is one of South Africa s most respected post producers for both commercials and films, comments Tracey Williams, Refinery s managing director. She understands how to maximise what is achievable on the big screen, from the work flow and picture to the sound specs. We re lucky to have her.
Since 1987, Refinery s cinema division has been running film recorders and has successfully transitioned from 35mm to e-cinema and D-cinema. The post-production facility has a dedicated in-house viewing theatre for DCP approvals and a long track record of delivering DCPs globally and ensuring QC acceptance of picture and sound.
Refinery s impressive foreign client list includes 20th Century Fox, BBC, CBS, Company Pictures, Discovery, HBO, ITV, Left Bank, Path , Sony BMG, Warner Brothers, Working Title Productions, and Zentropa, among others. The company has also worked with most of South Africa s top agencies and commercial production corporations.
