Director Michael MacGarry features in international film festivals --

Michael MacGarry s short film, Excuse me, while I disappear, has been included in the official selection of the 24th African, Asian and Latin America Film Festival (FCAAAL), to take place in Milan this year. The film is in competition for Best African Short Film, with the screenings and award announcements on 5 May 2015.
The same film has also been included in the programme for the The Johannesburg Pavilion - whose focus is a programme of contemporary African film and live performance - to take place during the 56th Venice Biennale from 6 to 10 May 2015. The Venice Biennale was founded in 1895 and it is now one of the most famous and prestigious cultural organisations in the world.
MacGarry will also be shooting a short film in Venice, Sea of Ash: a re-imagining of Thomas Mann s 1925 novella, Death in Venice. The film will allude to the contemporary issue of African refugees and immigrants in Italy.
