Kai Ryssdal of APM Marketplace will host a roundtable on how viewers can weather the nations turbulent economy.

Two of the regions leading news organizations distinguished for their award-winning local coverage, KCETs SoCal Connected and American Public Medias Marketplace , will present a special report on how Southern California can weather the national economic crisis.

Hosted by Kai Ryssdal of APMs Marketplace , The Economy: A Survival Guide provides a recap of the weeks financial market activity and features some of the areas leading economic forecasters in a special roundtable discussion on steps Angelenos can take to help to fortify their investments against further financial loss.

The report, which is a special edition of SoCal Connected, airs Friday, Aug. 12 at 8:30 p.m., Saturday Aug. 13 at 6 p.m. and Sunday Aug. 14 at 6:30 p.m.

The shows all-star panel, moderated by Ryssdal, includes Dan Schnur Director of the Jesse M. Unruh Institute of Politics at the University of Southern California; Chris Thornberg, Founding Partner, Beacon Economics; and Liz Weston, an award-winning, nationally-syndicated personal finance columnist.
