The explosion of live content across the media and entertainment industry today only amplifies the importance of maintaining technology initiatives aimed at inclusion. That includes critical features like accurate and comprehensive closed captions. The National Captioning Institute (NCI) are pioneers of this service in the United States. The nonprofit organization that provides real-time and off-line closed captioning, subtitling and translation, described video, web captioning, and Spanish captioning for television and films.
In this edition of the SVG New Sponsor Spotlight, we welcome NCI to the family by talking with Scott Pentoney, Technical Operations Manager at NCI to discuss the challenges of captioning live sports, how the technology is evolving, and how AI is becoming an increasingly smarter layer of the process.
