Award-winning artist Bheki Ihhashi elimhlophe Ngcobo told Drum Magazine that he wants young people entering the industry to have an easier time of it than he did. And he's doing that by uncovering new talent.

The publication says with the Ihhashi movement, he carries out talent searches. He was inspired by his visits home where he would often see young talented boys singing their hearts out, and years later they would get into drugs and waste their talent.

You can tell that they do not get into drugs by choice, it is the stress of not knowing the right channels in the music game they end up losing hope, he explained.

WHY IHHASHI MOVEMENT WAS STARTED The 61-year-old the Ihhashi movement focuses on bringing education closer to rural areas. He goes around areas that he feels are not as easily reached in townships, to reach children whose dreams are to get into the music business.

Education is a lifetime gift that no one can take away from a person and opens a lot of opportunities for young ones, he says.

Since I have been in this industry for a while, I decided to start the Ihhashi movement, as a person who is from the rural areas, getting where I am today was not easy. My journey was difficult because I didn't have information nor connection or guidance on how to get into and grow in the music scene, he explains.

I was young when I got in and grew up knowing the difficulties of not being able to unleash your talent to your full potential. That is why I started this movement, he told the publication.
