Vidcheck to Introduce OnDemand Automated Quality Control at IBC2015
Bristol, UK, September 2, 2015 Vidcheck, a supplier of class-leading software for automated quality control and automated correction of file-based video and audio content, announces the launch of Vidcheck OnDemand for both Vidchecker and Vidfixer, giving the first ever full operational-expenditure model for automated quality control.
For many facilities, where the quality control costs are directly attributable to client projects, Vidcheck OnDemand offers a number of flexible ways to pay for comprehensive automated QC. OnDemand options include pay-as-you-go and fully scalable processing, cloud-based or local.
"Vidcheck OnDemand provides a great solution for those needing to perform comprehensive quality control and better understand what the cost of this will be," comments Product & Partner Manager Howard Twine. "OnDemand makes it easier for those providing this type of client service to monitor their costs and only spend what their clients are paying for. For the first time such companies have a fully-functional and fully-featured fast auto QC system available where QC processing units can be bought as they are needed. Processing costs can be continuously scaled to the right size, avoiding the need for much larger capital expenditures."
The pay-as-you-go option allows customers to purchase auto QC Units as they are needed to automatically check the volume of media they are processing: the number of QC Units used is directly related to the duration of the content. This means that users only need to buy what they need. The Vidchecker/Vidfixer user interface shows the QC Unit meter and provides users with easy to understand usage metrics and costs.
For enterprise-level customers, the Grid Cloud option combines multiple Vidchecker/Vidfixer nodes in one large processing Grid, allowing many media files to be processed concurrently. With Grid Cloud, customers can easily scale QC processing capacity to meet volume demands at high peak times while also controlling costs at times when media volumes are low. The Grid Cloud option can be locally hosted or run on third-party hosted solutions such as Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure.
With systems that scale the full-range from low to high volume, pay-as-you-go processing allows Vidchecker and Vidfixer customers to control their auto QC costs, matching their income, irrespective of the size of their requirements.
Vidcheck incorporates uniquely efficient intelligent auto correction for video and audio levels. Vidchecker-Post tests and corrects one file at a time. Vidchecker tests and corrects four files at a time. Vidchecker Grid configures multiple servers running Vidchecker configures as one giant system like a render farm. Vidfixer offers a broader range of correction along with transcode capabilities. Vidfixer also scales up in the same way as Vidchecker. Both Vidchecker and Vidfixer can automatically build a template based on a known good working file. They have intuitive web based user interfaces and the results of each test are easy to understand. Integral help tools explain these parameters in more detail.
Further information will be available at on the Vidcheck stand, 8.A30, at IBC2015.
