Winner of the Sachtler Catalog Cover Competition Named

Eching, Germany: April 2013 - Sachtler, part of Vitec Videocom, a Vitec Group company, is once again marking the occasion of the NAB with the publication of its new product catalog. For the first time ever, Sachtler hosted a photo competition for the cover design at the end of last year. Photographer Keoki Flagg from Hawaii won with his picture of filmmaker Tom Day and the Sachtler FSB 8 fluid head. In terms of content, the premium camera support manufacturer from Eching is also moving in new directions: With the new design of the overview pages, informative how-to tips, and a great deal of know-how about Sachtler technologies, the 2013/14 catalog is much more than a mere product list.

Two cover stars: Tom Day and the Sachtler FSB 8

Sachtler has set high standards for its camera support. In doing so, Sachtler has focused on the needs of its users - intuitive handling, high durability, quick set-up, easy transport, and complete dependability. Expressing these values with a behind-the-scenes photo was the challenge of the competition. Photographer Keoki Flagg was successful in meeting this challenge. Flagg and Day travel the world for extreme sport projects: The picture shows DP Tom Day with his Sachtler FSB 8 tripod system in the Antarctic in temperatures as low as -40 C (-40 F). Traveling light, saving time, and staying calm are the keys to working in snow, ice, and bitter cold - thats why athlete and cinematographer Tom Day depended on the Sachtler FSB 8.

The winners of the two Sachtler Ace M MS tripod systems have already been contacted personally.

Sachtler scores with know-how and creativity

Thanks to revamped overview pages, the 2013/14 edition provides a great deal of know-how presented with a tutorial character: With introductions to Sachtler technologies, the catalog provides valuable information about methods of function and special features of fluid heads, tripods, pedestals, and camera stabilizer systems. Step by step, the product guide takes the user from the top to the bottom of the camera support and schematically demonstrates which products are compatible. A how to section about covers helps users find optimal protection for their equipment during transport. In addition, it pays to keep an eye out for QR codes: You can get more information about many heads directly on your smart phone with product videos.

Starting now, the catalog can be downloaded here. Print editions are also available as of now at all Sachtler dealers or at stand C6432 at the NAB in Las Vegas.
