Golden photokina Needle for Rainer F hres In recognition for his services involving photokina and the entire imaging industry, the Mayor of Cologne and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Koelnmesse GmbH, J rgen Roters, awarded Rainer F hres, the CEO of Canon Deutschland GmbH and Chairman of the Photoindustrie-Verband - The Imaging Association, with the Golden photokina Needle.

In the context of a ceremony during the Japan journey of the mayor with a photokina delegation, Roters praised the special dedication of Rainer F hres on behalf of the imaging industry. He has been active for Canon for more than 20 years now, and has in recent years also worked intensively and repeatedly to make photokina a crowd puller. In addition to this, he has always dedicated himself to introducing the subject of imaging to a wide audience, and has thereby made a not insignificant contribution to the success of photokina. He also assumed a responsible position several months ago as Chairman of the Photoindustrie-Verband; one in which he will also continue to play a decisive role in the positive continuing development of photokina in future. In this way he has done the trade fair and the city a great service and repeatedly shown his dedication to the photokina location of Cologne. In Roters own words: Someone who dedicates himself with so much commitment and energy to the interests of the industry must be involved wholeheartedly. It is such people that the industry urgently needs.

The Golden photokina Needle has been conferred since the early 1950s to persons from the economy, science and politics who have contributed to the success of photokina in Cologne.
