Greta Gerwig of White Noise' Graces the Cover of Queue' Issue 11

Queue says goodbye to 2022 with its eleventh issue highlighting Greta Gerwig, star of one of the season's most anticipated films, White Noise. Having spent the past six years writing and directing, Gerwig makes a triumphant return to acting in Noah Baumbach's adaptation of Don DeLillo's award-winning novel published in 1985. Ever insightful, the multihyphenate digs deep into her creative partnerships and her affection for White Noise's timely themes: We spend so much of our lives trying to pretend that chaos doesn't exist, and then it comes for you, one way or another.

Along with Gerwig's interview, the issue features White Noise writer-director Baumbach in conversation with fellow auteur Wes Anderson, with the longtime friends diving deep into the creation of the 1980s-set exploration of life, death and toxic consumerism in the American suburbs. Wes and I, said Baumbach, we go about our lives and then we often reunite at Q&As. Added Anderson: About half of the time we spend catching up is in front of a small audience in the basement of the hotel.

They are not the only high-profile creatives in conversation in Queue Issue 11. Joe Wright interviews Guillermo del Toro about his visionary stop-motion animated fable Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio; The Pale Blue Eye's filmmaker Scott Cooper and star Christian Bale reveal their ambitions for the gothic murder mystery; prolific writer-producer Ryan Murphy assembles the stars of his DAHMER - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story to explore the drama's significant cultural impact; and on a somewhat brighter note, Drew Barrymore salutes Adam Sandler for his remarkable work producing and starring in basketball passion project Hustle.

Queue's storytelling continues beyond the magazine's pages on the podcast Skip Introwith Krista Smith. Although they refused to reveal writer-director Rian Johnson's secret to success, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery standout stars Janelle Mon e and Kate Hudson each sat down with Krista Smith to discuss the summer camp vibes of shooting the latest whodunit with an all-star ensemble cast in Greece. Smith also got candid with Florence Pugh, the tremendously gifted star of Sebasti n Lelio's gripping adaptation of Emma Donoghue's novel The Wonder, chatting with the Academy Award nominee about her attraction to period costume fare and growing up in a household brimming with creative energy.

The new season of The Crown introduces the third and final cast to take Peter Morgan's acclaimed drama series into the twenty-first century - Queue talks with the performers stepping into the royal roles and the ways in which the Windsor women are front and center, each trying to find her way amid deepening rifts. I think so many of the stories that Peter explores in The Crown are about women surviving and evolving and being profoundly challenged, says Elizabeth Debicki, who takes over the iconic role of Princess Diana.

Additionally, the issue features Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne on his chilling role as serial killer Charles Cullen in The Good Nurse; an in-depth look at the cinema of BARDO, False Chronicle of a Handful of Truths filmmaker Alejandro G. I rritu; and a detailed discussion with German writer-director Edward Berger and some of his key artistic partners about the making of their powerful war epic, All Quiet on the Western Front.

And finally, as we've done in every issue across the 11 we've published, we wrap up with another dream Dinner Party, this time hosted by Naomi Watts, the star of Ryan Murphy's The Watcher, who assembles a formidable lineup of women for her ideal meal.
