isiZulu is one of the country's 12 official languages, which includes English and SA Sign Language. But many South Africans don't speak Zulu at all, or they might be learning their way through the language's proverbs and paragraphs.

Here's one important isiZulu sentence that you can add to your vocabulary, and use whenever you think it's appropriate to say it.

iziZulu proverb: the hairy goat According to Motivation.Africa, there's a well-known isiZulu proverb that compares someone to a long-haired goat.

Long-haired goat species like the Pygora, Bilberry, and Bagot are known for their longer locks.

In Zulu, this comparison exists to tell someone that they are being vain or that they like being looked at too much.

If someone spends too much time on Instagram or TikTok looking at themselves, this is one expression or saying that you could use.

isiZulu: Uthanda ukubukwa njegesiyayephu The full isiZulu sentence is:

Uthanda ukubukwa njegesiyephu.

This means that someone [he] likes to be looked at like he's a long-haired goat.

Is someone in the house using too much spray, or spending hours looking at themselves in the mirror lately?
