Thales Angenieux sponsored the 2nd RV with French Cinema in Singapore December 5-9 as the Official Industry Sponsor. For Thales Angenieux, whose zoom lenses are at the heart of the most prestigious shootings, it is entirely natural to support such an event and to participate in the promotion of French cinema in the world.

A number of interesting meetings took place during the week with the defence of image quality being the center of conversations.

French actress Sophie Marceau, who led the artistic delegation for this 2012 edition, expressed openly her worry about the risk of a standardisation and uniformisation of films and filming.

The Masterclass organized by Angenieux at the Ngee Ann Polytechnic on December 6 for cinema students in Singapore had the same ambition. This approach was supported by the My Lucky Star team including Director Anne Fassio, Actress Fleur-Lise Heuet, and Director of Photography Antoine Roch AFC.

In front of a group of around thirty students, the film team expressed the importance of complicity between the film director, the actor and the director of photography on a film set. The film director hasa vision which is expressed by actors and translated into images by the Director of Photography. In order to achieve this, the lens is an essential element. Through its quality, the zoom lens must enable all kinds of visions, facilitate the DoP's job and sublimate the actor's game.

This Festival was the opportunity for Angenieux to meet again with Isabelle Huppert whowas present for her role in Amour by Michael Haneke. Indeed, Angenieux has a particular affection for the star as she went to Geneva in 1989 to present his Oscar to Pierre Angenieux.

Moreover, Angenieux offered their first Red carpet to the three happy winners of the Angenieux Facebook game organized before the Festival .

This year again in Singapore, Angenieux proved its strong will to be at the service of the motion picture industry. In the cold world of digital technology, the exceptional quality and superb colorimetry of Angenieux lenses make them ever closer to the needs of film crews.
