2023 Record-Breaking Year for WRAL's Coats for the Children

WRAL Coats For the Children just wrapped up its 35th campaign, and the results are nothing short of extraordinary!

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our viewers and community partners, WRAL Coats For the Children received a record-breaking number of donations to support the Salvation Army. More than 3000 coats were collected across our viewing area (and counting) and we raised over $195, 000!

The love poured in like never before, supporting the Salvation Army and spreading warmth to those in need, said Don Ursich, Local Production Manager & Coats Project Manager. A heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you who contributed to this phenomenal success.

The funds raised through the campaign will be instrumental in providing essential winter clothing and other necessities to vulnerable individuals and families across our region. The more than 3,000 coats collected will be distributed not only to those reaching out to the Salvation Army but through local partnerships and organizations, ensuring that those in need receive the warmth and comfort they deserve during the colder months.

We recognize our community partners Jiffy Lube MultiCare , Whitley Law Firm, PODS, Far Packaging, Forever Clean, Wolfspeed, Bailey's Fine Jewelry, Blanton's Air Plumbing & Electric, and Chiesi USA for their support of this project as well as the overwhelming response from our community and loyal WRAL Viewers!
