Dimitra Pagoni, senior workflow coordinator, Ateliere Creative Technologies Talk us through an average day in your role I will normally start my day with analysing and routing new requests that have come during the previous night. By the time I finish my first cup of coffee I will have to sync with my colleagues making sure there are no impediments that will block our daily progress. Coordinating work between multiple locations is a core aspect of my daily work. By the time noon comes I will have already met with multiple people and continue tracking our workload volumes and by the end of the day I make sure productivity reports are on track.

How did you get started in the media industry? By profession I am a piano teacher. Fun fact: at the age of 10 I got a scholarship to study in Germany as a piano virtuoso. I spent my early career years as a digital services support coordinator in one of the biggest communication companies in Greece. After moving to the Netherlands, the media industry naturally attracted me since I am also a big fan of films and more cultural things. After that I fell in love with the industry and that is the reason I have kept working for the media for more than 10 years now.

What training did you have before entering the industry? My natural penchant for creativity led me to take a course for graphic designer early in my career. That helped me a lot in my work as a content operator as well as my own personal projects.

Why do you enjoy working in the industry? The opportunities for creativity and expression are limitless in the media industry. Being a music and film lover myself, I find this industry a perfect fit for me. At the same time I can interact with people that share the same interests with me and grow myself.

What piece of advice would you offer someone looking to explore a role similar to yours? Coordinating in the media industry will require all the multitasking skills anyone has. It will demand a high level of creativity, drive, and ambition, but at the end of the day it will make you feel fulfilled, satisfied and rewarded. Just go for it!
