The UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has awarded the Radio Replacement project to Rohde & Schwarz. This significant project aims to modernize the radio communications system at the Sheikh Zayed Air Navigation Centre in Abu Dhabi.
The Radio Replacement project involves the installation of over 200 new radios, including providing a significant enhancement to the already installed voice communication system (VCS). Rohde & Schwarz, with its strong in-country presence and comprehensive system capabilities, emerged as the ideal partner for this digital transformation.
With 30 years of presence in the UAE, Rohde & Schwarz has demonstrated its unwavering dedication to serving the country with cutting-edge technologies and exceptional services. The companys market-leading R&S Series 5200, a next-generation air traffic control (ATC) radio, played a pivotal role in securing this contract as its multiple network interfaces enable a seamless integration into the existing infrastructure.
The signing ceremony, held at the Dubai Airshow 2023, was witnessed by Patrick Brodda, Managing Director of Rohde & Schwarz Emirates LLC, and H.E. Saif Al Suwaidi, the Director General of the GCAA.
Modernizing the radio communication infrastructure at the Sheikh Zayed Air Navigation Centre in Abu Dhabi represents one of GCAAs groundbreaking projects, said H.E. Saif Mohamed Al Suwaidi. Partnering with Rohde & Schwarz will elevate this project, leveraging their extensive experience, local presence, and cutting-edge technologies. This collaboration will significantly contribute to the development process of the project.
