Fujifilm supports Paediatric Study Day at Royal Hospital for Sick Children

Fujifilm is a pioneer in diagnostic imaging and information systems for healthcare facilities, with a range of constantly evolving clinically proven products and technologies designed to assist medical professionals perform more efficiently and effectively. The company were delighted to support a Paediatric Study Day at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh.

Held on 16th November 2013, the paediatric study day was based on paediatric trauma and attended by 50 Emergency Nurse Practitioners and Radiographers from around the UK and Ireland. Its aim was to further the depth of knowledge of paediatric trauma radiography for both radiographers who are based in paediatrics, as well as radiographers based in district general hospitals.

The morning session opened with a series of informative lectures from Consultant Radiologists, a Consultant in Accident and Emergency and a Paediatric Radiographer. Following a break for lunch, the afternoon session was tutorial based and was presented by the Paediatric Radiographers based at RHSC, Edinburgh.

Fujifilm's Mark Taylor attended the Study Day on behalf of Fujifilm, who donated a Fujifilm Camera as a prize for the event. Mark showcased the company's C24i D-EVO flat panel detector, which was well received by the delegates.

Commenting on the 2013 Study Day, Freya Johnson, Specialist Radiographer at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children said: This year's Paediatric Trauma study day was a great success. The Emergency Nurse Practitioners and Radiographers who attended the event provided positive feedback and were delighted with the informative and insightful sessions. Our thanks go out to Fujifilm, who kindly donated a fantastic camera which was presented to the winner of our Study Day quiz, Mirelle Liggett, a specialist paediatric radiographer from Belfast. As always the event was oversubscribed, so we're looking forward to hosting our next event which is planned for 8th March 2014.
