nangu.TV, the pioneering media platform provider for IPTV and OTT services, is demonstrating a number of key features at TV Connect including its new recommendation engine. This is part of its remote control and multi-screen application for tablet, smartphones and set-top box devices.

nangu.TV's recommendation engine, which has been incorporated into the nangu.TV app available for download via the App Store or Google Play, will be launched at the show. Recommendation has become a powerful tool: more and more users rely on discussions with friends when selecting movies and TV programmes, and advertisers know that a personal recommendation exceeds any form of advertisement. While users are browsing content on the nangu.TV platform the recommendation engine feeds the most relevant content from the fewest selections in the search categories.

Using the nangu.TV app it's also now possible for consumers to control their TV using a tablet or Smartphone device. This remote application demonstrated on the nangu.TV stand enables simple browse capability with on/off, play, pause, start again and volume adjustment. Pop-up push notifications on the second screen alert the user that content is starting and a single click plays it on the TV. The search optimisation is highly advanced enabling filtering based on chosen criteria. Users can search, record, bookmark or play content on the TV freeing up the second device.

With the integration of apps on mobile, tablet and smart TVs, watching OTT content across multi-screen devices has never been easier. Using the nangu.TV app users simply purchase the application and access content on the platform using the pin number provided by their operator.

nangu.TV's Media Platform goes much further than traditional IPTV systems allowing the user to deliver content over any internet connection. Because of its seamless adaptive streaming functionality it frequently checks the connection type and speed for both linear and non-linear content and adapts accordingly for quality optimisation. The platform allows ISP, cable, mobile and hospitality TV service providers to deliver value-add additional features including: non-linear TV, VoD, triple- screen, hybrid boxes and mobile applications.
