Termin la tercera edici n de la 4K Summit en el Polo de Contenidos Digitales de M laga, organizada por Medina Middle con Panorama Audiovisual como main media partner, certificando su xito al anunciar su cuarta edici n para el a o que viene, del 7 al 9 de noviembre
4K Summit
En la ltima jornada de ponencias, Hans Hoffmann, jefe de la unidad de fundamentos de medios y tecnolog a de producci n (UER-EBU), y Stephan Heimbecher, director de innovaciones y est ndares de tecnolog a en Sky Alemania, fueron los encargados de trasladar a los asistentes a la 4KSummit las conclusiones del grupo de trabajo en su calidad de co-presidentes del F rum FAME.
La 4K Summit reserv uno de sus paneles para presentar la pr xima revoluci n: el 5G. Una tecnolog a llamada a revolucionar el mundo del v deo y se anunci la pr xima celebraci n en el Polo de Contenidos Digitales de M laga del 5G Forum en abril de 2018, donde se analizar en profundidad esta tecnolog a.
David Smith, Product Specialist de Rohde&Schwarz; Olie Buamann, Senior Technical Specialist de Ericsson; Xavi Red n, Product Manager de Cellnex, Jorge Ruano, Director de Innovaci n de Nokia, concluyeron que lo primero que el consumidor va a notar con la llegada del 5G en 2020-2022 es la mejora de los servicios de la telefon a, pero que esto s lo ser el principio de innumerables mejoras que ir n llegando paso a paso.
Cellnex, en su apuesta por la transmisi n 4K por DTT, ha llevado a cabo una transmisi n en directo desde Mijas a trav s del canal 26 con tres servicios en multiplicaci n estad stica UHD con HLG, HDR10 y SDR respectivamente.
OTT y 4K
Movistar, Ateme y Akamai protagonizaron el panel sobre OTT y 4K, todos ellos centrando todo su esfuerzo en que la experiencia del usuario en entornos OTT sean tan positiva, o incluso mejor, que en televisi n lineal. Rub n Mellado, Global V deo CTO de Telef nica hizo referencia a la falta de normas y de control de dispositivo de cliente como los retos clave para la distribuci n de Movistar en 4K v a OTT. Ian Munford, Director or Product Marketing de Akamai, hizo hincapi en la necesidad de mejorar la distribuci n de contenidos en directo y en que el modelo de negocio debe ser beneficioso para todos. Por su parte, Gustavo Marra, VP de soluciones y desarrollo de Ateme, afirm que la distribuci n de contenidos bajo demanda est teniendo un fuerte crecimiento en Estados Unidos.
Como cierre a los tres d as dedicados a la Ultra Alta Definici n en el Polo de Contenidos Digitales, el analista de IHS Markit, Paul Gray ofreci sus conclusiones al evento dejando claro que estamos ante la edad de oro en la creaci n de contenidos y present el m vil como la nueva puerta de entrada del UHD hacia los consumidores. Gray termin haciendo un llamamiento a salvaguardar la experiencia y no centrarse en los n meros, al tiempo que defendi aprender de los errores del pasado.
Mar a Jes s Almazor, directora de Territorio Sur de Telef nica Espa a, dio el discurso de clausura, constatando que Espa a es l der europeo en instalaci n de fibra hasta los hogares y que esto abre la puerta a los contenidos en Ultra Alta Definici n.
