Ningbo enterprises sparkle at Canton Fair

The 2nd phase of the 116th Canton Fair 2014 dropped its curtain on October 27. It is learned from Ningbo Foreign Trade & Economic Cooperation Bureau that over 900 enterprises participated in the first and second phases of the fair. By launching innovation portfolio, many of the enterprises attracted both attention and large export orders at the fair.

Kitchenware are among the major exhibits of the second phase of the fair. As the "Kitchenware City of China", Ningbo boasts a large number of kitchenware suppliers, with some of them being the leading enterprises in the field in China. As the first aluminum cookware manufacturer participating in the fair, Ningbo Wugu Metal Products brought to fair the wireless fridges and the heat-insulated barrels, their latest products, which attracted numerous clients from the North American areas for orders.

With regard to the household appliances, Ningbo is transforming from "made in Ningbo" to "created in Ningbo". Ningbo Chengyu Electronic Appliances & Modules Co. Ltd. brought a kind of smart pan with the temperature display function to the fair. By tackling the difficulty of temperature display penal under superhigh temperatures, the product makes it possible to control the cooking accurately. The high-pressure cookers produced by Ningbo Zhonghao Electronic Appliances Co. Ltd., boasting the similar quality with the same kind of products made in Germany and a much lower price due to its integrated punching technique, were well received at the fair by clients from Europe.

Ningbo designs have also been highlighted at the Canton Fair. Ningbo Essential Design divided its exhibition area into four sections, with traditional popular products and several new products exhibited in each section. The newly designed personalized products catering for the unique requirements of the consumers of the Middle East market received more orders than expected. Ningbo Great Leisure Products Co. Ltd. Employed European designers in their new product development, and their sales volume in 2014 may reach 700 million yuan, an increase of 20% over the previous year, according to Wang Lijun, Manager of the Trade Department of the company.

Statistics from Ningbo Municipal Foreign Trade & Economic Cooperation Bureau show that at the first phase of the 116th Canton Fair, Ningbo Trade Delegation grabbed a trade volume of US$760 million, remaining stable compared with the previous year, ranking at the top among all the delegations in terms of order amount.
