Globo presents miniseries Happily Ever After? and Dear Dea in Miami

Happily Ever After? made a splash in Brazil with actress Paolla Oliveira as a call girl who becomes involved with a couple in crisis

Globo presents two new miniseries from its catalog during the 2016 Natpe. With very different themes, the titles captured the Brazilian audience with enticing stories and high production quality. Directed by Fernando Meirelles ( City of God and The Constant Gardener ), Happily Ever After? is an urban plot with conflicts of interest, relationship crises, and political intrigue. The miniseries shows that some people are capable of anything to achieve their goals. Dear Death tells the saga of a bride abandoned at the altar who returns from the dead to win back her true love. It s about romance and revenge in a magic atmosphere.

How far would you go to satisfy your desires? Happily Ever After? tells the story of a couple in crisis who, in order to save their relationship, becomes involved with a mysterious call girl: Danny Bond (Paolla Oliveira, Trail of Lies ).

The electrifying intrigue and the story full of desire and sex scenes with beautiful actress Paolla Oliveira made a splash. On the internet, seven terms related to Happily Ever After? entered the Trending Topics in Brazil, among them #felizesparasempre (original title), #ripdannybond (in reference to the actress s character) and #obrigadoadrianaesteves (reference to actress Adriana Esteves, who played Carminha in Brazil Avenue ).

The miniseries aired on Globo s 11:00 pm time slot in Brazil, obtaining a 39% share and more than 17 million viewers (source: Ibope).

In the plot, Mar lia (Maria Fernanda C ndido, Tropical Paradise ) and Cl udio (Enrique D az, Precious Pearl ) are the image of a perfect couple: rich, beautiful, and happy. She is an artist and he runs a famous construction company that yields millions. However, all that wealth is the result of illegal deals. When Danny Bond enters the picture, a crime of passion changes everyone s lives.

Modernity and sophistication were the ingredients used to create the characters, who are merged with the city of Bras lia, where Happily Ever After? takes place. The city, with its great landscapes, and the architecture of world famous Oscar Niemeyer, is a UNESCO World Heritage site. It is also the political center of Brazil. With its huge blue sky, it offers the perfect backdrop for the narrative and the atmosphere of power games in the plot. Happily Ever After? was written by Euclydes Marinho, author from Globo, and produced by O2 Films, Fernando Meirelles production company.

The cast of Happily Ever After? includes stars like Adriana Esteves ( Brazil Avenue ), C ssia Kis ( The Party ), and Jo o Miguel ( The Enchanted Tale ), among others.

Dear Death is a classic, supernatural melodrama that takes place in the early 20th century. Its aesthetic blends reality and fantasy and reached 11 million viewers in Brazil (source: Ibope). The miniseries was in the TTs in Brazil for eight times while being aired.

Dear Death tells the story of Malvina (Marina Ruy Barbosa, Empire ), who is abandoned at the altar and decides to take her own life. In order to try to win back her true love, she comes back to life, bringing with her many other inhabitants, also deceased. What no one suspects is that the true intention of the dead is to settle debts from the past.

The shootings recovered classic audiovisual references, merging traditional cinema techniques and contemporary visual effects. One of the curiosities is that the shootings took place exclusively in the studio. Cemetery, streets, facades, bridge, and even effects like rain, fire, and mud all took place indoors, within Globo s Studios in Rio de Janeiro. The intention was to expand the spaces using resources such as virtual set design and painting.

The cemetery, for instance, has the sky formed by a 360-degree panel hand-painted in shades of black, gray, and white, which allowed the lighting hue to adjust to each scene. The 1,000 m space featured 15 styrofoam sculptures, scenographic trees, washed sand mixed with bayferrox, in addition to the tombs from which the characters come out as undead. The buildings with more than one floor used the virtual set design resource. The first floors are built and the others are completed in post-production.

Dear Death also features actors Gabriel (Johnny Massaro, Fight or Love? ), Let cia Sabatella ( India - A Love Story ), Jackson Antunes ( Empire ), Daniel de Oliveira ( The Party ), Tonico Pereira ( Seven Women ), and Maria Luisa Mendon a ( Seize the Day ).

Natpe 2016

Globo will be located in the Tr sor Tower, suite 2601, during Natpe, which will be held from January 19th until 21st. The Brazilian company that produce, distribute and exhibit multigenre content around the world to many platforms, will offer its traditional Screening Breakfast on the morning of the 19th (from 8:00 to 10:00 AM, in the Versailles Tower, at the Glimmer Ballroom), where it will launch its new catalog of unreleased titles.
