Music Legend Danny Kortchmar Contributes to Successful Panels at 147th AES Convention in New York City

Legendary GRAMMY -nominated guitarist, songwriter and producer Danny Kortchmar had a strong presence at the recent 147th Audio Engineering Society Convention in New York City, which took place October 16-19, 2019, at the Jacob Javits Center. Kortchmar contributed to two successful panel events: Triple Threat: The Art, Production & Technology of Making Music on Thursday, October 17, and How We Make Music-Crossing the Decades from Analog to Digital on Friday, October 18.

In Triple Threat, Kortchmar was joined by co-presenter Steve Jordan and moderator Paul Verna. Kortchmar and Jordan discussed all aspects of making music both creatively and technically. The two presenters have been frequent collaborators over the years, and they shared their collected secrets and experiences, digital and analog, then and now.

In How We Make Music, Kortchmar was joined by co-panelists Eddie Kramer, Tom Lord-Alge and Dave Way, and moderator Chris Lord-Alge. Attendees heard from these top recording engineers and producers on the techniques they use from analog to digital and how they connect the dots of the past, present, and future of creative technology, including the major transition into Pro Tools and other digital audio interfaces.

Danny Kortchmar's resume reads like a who's-who of the music industry. A renowned guitarist, producer, songwriter, and session musician, he has played, produced, and written for James Taylor, Don Henley, Carole King, Linda Ronstadt, and Jackson Browne, among many others.

As a songwriter, Kortchmar has either written alone or collaborated with numerous artists, penning indelible tracks such as Don Henley's Dirty Laundry, All She Wants to Do Is Dance, and New York Minute, as well as Jackson Browne's Somebody's Baby and Shaky Town, to name a few. 2019, Clyne Media, Inc., All Rights Reserved
