The Production format includes contingency plans
Accurate running orders - all staff fully understand their function in the Production
Clear and concise instructions are provided to all parties pertinent to the Production
Post Production - All relevant paper work is completed and submitted timeously as per guidelines
Appropriate decisions are made regarding the transmission using all relevant elements required by the stakeholders whilst remaining within broadcast standards
Need to be able to commentate in Portuguese on the following events: Football, Basketball, Motor Sport, swimming, cycling
They must succinctly and passionately convey the excitement of the sporting event to their viewers over the television broadcast.
They must convince an audience of the events authenticity and be as descriptive as if the audience were witnessing the game in person.
Due to the nature of the industry the candidate will need to be available in the evenings and on weekends. Most games are on nights and weekends. Sports commentators often arrive several hours in advance of the broadcast.
Need to attend production meeting with producers, camera or other people involved in the broadcast transmission when required.
Research on teams and players needs to be done in advance, including any relevant stats and research.
Commentator will need to conduct interviews before the game and assist with sound
and equipment checks.
Upon conclusion, commentators often conduct interviews, record sound bites for the stations news segments and assist in packing the equipment.
Need to constantly promote other events on the channel.
Prepare and deliver sports news, gathering and rewriting material so that it will convey required information and fit specific time slots.
Read Sporting news flashes to inform audiences of important events.
Identify stations, and introduce or close shows, using memorized or read scripts, and/or ad-libs.
Select program content, in conjunction with producers and assistants, based on factors such as program specialties, audience tastes, or requests from the public.
Study background information in order to prepare for programs or interviews.
Interview show guests about current sporting affairs, relevant sporting topics, their lives, their work, or topics of current interest.
Discuss various topics over the telephone with viewers or listeners.
Host civic, charitable, or promotional events that are broadcast over television
Make promotional appearances at public or private events in order to represent the company
Record promos for later broadcast.
Locate guests to appear on talk or interview shows.
Coordinate on-air competitions, performing such duties as asking questions and awarding prizes.
Attend press conferences in order to gather information for broadcast.
Provide commentary and conduct interviews during sporting events
Moderate panels or discussion shows on sporting topics such as current affairs, or news

Fluent in Portuguese
Min 5 years experience working in a Portuguese speaking environment
Relates the company's products and services to customer needs; promotes a sense of trust and confidence in the customer
Competencies Keeps up to date on current affairs in TV sporting industry - reflected in output and relationships
Knows who to contact to obtain specific content to meet media requirements
Converses easily on the product line (e.g. on-air problems, time delays, glitches, scheduling, information, etc)
Understands sports broadcasting environment and processes and relates appropriately with clients
Identifies deviation from standard and takes relevant technical corrective action

Combines elements to ensure continuity of pictures (through thorough understanding of the product - i.e. sport)
Communicates a story that makes sense and has maximum effect
Selects the correct visuals and audio against the purpose of the brief
Keeps abreast of trends and uses this knowledge to enhance the product and keep it up to date
Understands how the basic audio and visual elements balance to form an aesthetically pleasing production and uses this knowledge to enhance the programme
