Entrepreneurs appointed busine ambaadors for Branson s Virgin Media Pioneers initiative

Sir Richard Branson has chosen 12 entrepreneurs from across the UK to be the local face of Virgin Media Pioneers and inspire young people to start their own successful businesses.

The Ambassadors include 23-year-old Zoe Jackson, from London who set up her professional dance company aged just 16; Conrad Thornton, 26, from Manchester who founded a sustainable advertising business; Matt Roberts, 29, co-founder of Bean2Bed, from Birmingham; and 19-year-old entrepreneur, Jacob Hill, the founder of The Lazy Camper, which sells camping packs to festival goers.

Launched by Virgin Media, Virgin Media Pioneers is a free, online community connecting young, entrepreneurial talent to a network of peer-to-peer support, with video blogs, engaging TV series and expert professional mentoring and advice.

Richard Branson, Pioneer-at-Large for Virgin Media Pioneers and founder of the Virgin Group, said: There is a huge amount we can do to unlock entrepreneurial potential and Virgin Media Pioneers is enabling young entrepreneurs to fulfil their dreams of owning and managing successful businesses.

Starting up your own business is a big challenge and many of the obstacles are daunting and, at times, can seem insurmountable. But with the right support and expert advice young entrepreneurs can find their way and Virgin Media Pioneers will be with them every step of the way.
