MatrixStore from Object Matrix has won the Storage category in IABM's new Broadcast and Media awards (BaMs ).

MatrixStore is an object storage and media focused private and hybrid cloud platform, which enables media companies to keep content secure and protected, whilst ensuring easy access and discoverability at all times. The latest version has been updated to allow hybrid cloud workflows, IMF workflows, and Artificial Intelligence.

The IABM BaM judges commented:

As we move to Cloud services an innovative hybrid approach is ideal for security of data. Enables hybrid on-premise and cloud-based workflows, and support for the industry standard IMF format and media metadata. A high-end product able to operate with the high resolution mastering video formats.

The awards were judged by a panel of more than 40 non-affiliated, expert judges, each with specialist expertise in one or more of the award categories. The winners were selected from more than 100 submissions and were presented during the IABM BaM awards party at this year's NAB Show.

The application of Artificial Intelligence to MatrixStore means that it can now enable semantic tagging of video from within the cluster itself. This enables users to extract metadata and make that searchable from within the storage. The hybrid storage architecture enables customers to utilise their existing investment into on premise software packages that link into MatrixStore, as well as taking advantage of as-a-service software packages that link into cloud storage.
