NBA TV s Critically Acclaimed Open Court Looks...

NBA TV's critically acclaimed Open Court returns with its third episode - as the network leads up to the start of the new season - Tuesday, Oct. 21, at 7p.m. ET with a roundtable discussion focused on the top players, teams and storylines for the upcoming NBA season. The Season Preview show features a cast of NBA greats looking forward to the return of four-time league MVP LeBron James to the Cleveland Cavaliers, what teams in the Eastern and Western Conferences are prepared to make a move and contend with the San Antonio Spurs, along with identifying players on the rise for the 2014-14 season.

Open Court's Season Preview episode is hosted by Sports Emmy Award winner Ernie Johnson with Hall of Famers Charles Barkley, Reggie Miller, Shaquille O'Neal and Isiah Thomas, NBA Champions Kenny Smith and Rick Fox and five-time NBA All-Star Chris Webber.

The Open Court series continues on Monday, Oct. 27, at 10 p.m., with NBA Champions Edition, a look at the Spurs and building winning culture.

Excerpts from the Season Preview episode of Open Court:

Barkley on Kyrie Irving and the Cleveland Cavaliers' adjustments coming into this year: The person who has to make the biggest adjustment is Kyrie Irving. He's going to have to learn how to play without the ball for the first time in his life. LeBron's a point forward; Kyrie, it's going to be interesting watching his maturity.

Thomas on the New York Knicks being a playoff team: I think New York is going to be a playoff team this year. I think Carmelo Anthony comes back with a renewed sense of energy and urgency. I think [Derek] Fisher has a good impact, and quiet impact on the team in terms of J.R. Smith and those guys getting healthy coming back. I think the system they are going to employ will be steady enough throughout the season I think the Knicks are going to surprise people this year.

Miller on Kobe Bryant and the Lakers: It's going to be interesting to see how Kobe really comes back and performs Those are two serious injuries that he's had over the last two years. And we remember Kobe as being the one guy dominated the offense. It's going to be a different offense with Byron Scott, and how their relationship is, is going to be a huge factor on a young team.

Barkley on New Orleans Pelicans center Anthony Davis: I got a chance to see this kid play a little bit this summer, and he's going to be the next superstar in the NBA.
