Inview Technology, a provider of end-to-end Smart TV ecosystems, today announced it is now offering over-the-top (OTT) software for a set-top-box (STB) powered by Broadcom Corporation. Achieving an immersive user interface, Inview takes advantage of the availability of both internet and broadcast content to provide the consumer with maximum flexibility and convenience to find and select the programming of their choice regardless if the source is streaming media or broadcasting content.
Inview selected the Broadcom BCM7231 Smart STB system-on-a-chip (SoC) for its higher level of integration and performance. The BCM7231 enables advanced IP digital entertainment services in a low cost, high performance and compact package. The BCM7231 allows solution providers to cost effectively expand IPTV services, such as networked DVR and IP video services, for both client-server and low cost standalone deployment models.
Broadcom's expertise in developing the cutting edge set-top box silicon solutions, combined with Inview's lightweight OTT software platform will give operators a compelling connected TV solution for delivering an integrated OTT service, said MD of Inview Solutions, Julie Austin.
Broadcom is excited to work with Inview to provide advanced features that make for engaging new consumer products, said Stuart Thomson, Broadcom's Senior Director of Marketing, Broadband Communications Group. By leveraging the capabilities of Broadcom's highly integrated SoCs, Inview is providing consumers with an easier way to enjoy Internet and broadcast entertainment.
