Nokia and MobiFone to deploy 00G transport network in dense economic zones in souern Vietnam

MobiFones subscribers will be able to enjoy high capacity services in key economic zones

Nokias innovative 100G optical technologies will help MobiFone meet increasing data demand

Hanoi, Vietnam - MobiFone will deploy a Nokia 100G Optical Transport Network (OTN) and Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) regional network from Ho Chi Minh City to more than 10 provinces in southern Vietnam. The new transport network will enable MobiFone, the countrys market leader in mobile communications, to provide innovative and high capacity services in these key economic zones, home to a significant percentage of the operators 40 million subscribers.

Nokia will provide the 100G DWDM solution with L1 Generalized Multi-Protocol Label Switching (GMPLS) transport to support increasing traffic in these regions. Nokias 1830 Photonic Service Switch (PSS) will help maximize network capacity and efficiency, enabling faster deployment of newer services. When deployed, the new transport network will be able to support increased traffic capacity of 300G and system expansion up to 8Tbps in future.
