TVU Networks announced that Television Broadcasts Satellite (TVBS), the first 24-hour news network in Taiwan, is expanding their TVU Networks suite of IP-based live video broadcast solutions by deploying multiple units of TVU One, TVU's newest, ultra-compact mobile transmitter and TVU Anywhere, TVU's smartphone-based app which broadcasts live from a mobile device with the push of a button.
TVBS, a nationwide cable TV network in Taiwan, has been using TVUPack cellular uplink backpacks since 2010. TVBS will expand their mobile newsgathering capabilities and breaking news coverage by also deploying TVU One, which provides the same industry-leading transmission resiliency, performance, video picture quality and sub-second latency of a full-size TVUPack backpack transmitter, but in the most powerful and smallest form factor IP video transmitter available. Additionally, reporters for TVBS will use TVU Anywhere, a smart device-based app that allows broadcasters to turn their personal smartphone into a high quality, low latency professional video transmitter to capture live news as it's happening, from virtually anywhere.

We have been using TVUPack for over 5 of those years and have been very impressed with not only TVU's solutions, but also with the relationship they have established and maintained with us throughout the years, says Bruce Lin, Manager, Engineering. We will continue to use TVUPack but will now have even greater agility when rushing to capture breaking news, as we'll be armed and ready with the super small and lightweight, TVU One, as well as all of the smartphones and devices equipped with the TVU Anywhere app. The TVU Anywhere app will be very useful for our New Media department, as it increases our ability to capture news from anywhere. TVU One is a fifth generation, live, mobile IP newsgathering transmitter based on the same reliability, HD picture performance, and under one second latency of a full-size TVUPack backpack transmitter, but in a substantially smaller, lightweight and ultra-compact form factor. TVU One also features TVU's proprietary Inverse StatMux Plus (IS+) for a broadcast quality picture even in a moving vehicle. With TVU One, broadcasters can fully leverage the versatility that a small, lightweight IP video transmitter brings in the field, without sacrificing performance, feature functionality or picture quality.
TVU Anywhere is designed to turn a portable smart device or laptop instantly into a HD video transmitter. TVU Anywhere is a powerful tool that enables organizations to instantly capture and transmit footage from anywhere at anytime. Using cellular of wireless connection and WiFi when available, TVU Anywhere delivers HD video with the push of a button and without the need for traditional hardware.
Already in use by hundreds of leading broadcast organizations around the world, the TVU Networks family of IP transmission solutions gives broadcasters and organizations a powerful and reliable tool to distribute live video content to broadcast, online and mobile platforms.
