Leading Later-Stage Venture Capital and Growth Equity Firm Invests for Future
Menlo Park, Calif. - October 2, 2018 - IVP, a premier later-stage venture capital and growth equity firm, is pleased to announce two new additions to its investment team. Louisa Xu joins IVP as a Vice President and Jake Storm joins as an Associate. In addition, IVP announced that it has promoted Armaan Ali to Senior Associate.
We are delighted to welcome Louisa and Jake to the firm. IVP continues to attract exceptional talent and these additions complement our team of investment professionals very well, said Eric Liaw, General Partner. Louisa's principal investment experience coupled with her hands-on work with companies in the security and e-commerce sectors will give us another diverse perspective as we assess new investment opportunities in fast-growing technology companies, added Liaw.
Louisa will focus on investing in later-stage, high-growth consumer and enterprise companies. Prior to joining IVP, she was with GIC's Technology Investment Group, where she led and supported investments in DoorDash, Lime, Katerra, and Affirm. She was a Board Observer at DoorDash. Louisa began her career at Blackstone's Private Equity Group in New York where she worked on leveraged buyouts in a variety of industries, from upstream energy to retail. Following Blackstone, she gained operating experience in data science at Enjoy and business operations at Cloudflare. She co-founded cleverlayover, a travel tech startup, which won first place at Harvard Business Schools' startup competition and was featured on Conde Nast Traveler. Louisa holds an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, and a B.A. from Yale University, where she graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa.
Jake will focus on identifying and evaluating later-stage investments across the technology industry, including enterprise software, Internet and digital media, and mobile. Prior to joining IVP, he worked for Jefferies' Technology Investment Banking group. At Jefferies, Jake worked on strategic and financing transactions as well as corporate advisory engagements for companies across the Internet, enterprise software and hardware sectors, including Apptio, Dropbox, SailPoint, and Zuora, among others. He also worked in sales at Zuora and Qualtrics. Jake graduated from Brigham Young University, where he earned a B.S. in Finance from the Marriott School of Business.
In addition to adding two fantastic individuals to our team, we are pleased to promote Armaan to Senior Associate, continued Liaw. His promotion is well deserved and reflects the firm's excitement for his ongoing contributions as we continue to invest IVP XVI.
Armaan joined IVP in September 2016. He focuses on identifying and evaluating later-stage investments across the technology industry, including enterprise software, Internet and digital media, and mobile. Armaan worked on IVP's investments in Amplitude, Coinbase, The Players' Tribune, Skydio, and Tanium, and is actively involved with IVP portfolio companies Ayasdi, Casper, Klarna, OnDeck (ONDK), Sauce Labs, Yext (YEXT), and ZEFR. Prior to joining IVP, Armaan worked at Qatalyst Partners, a technology-focused boutique investment bank located in San Francisco. Armaan graduated from New York University, where he received a double B.S. in Finance and Information Systems from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business along with a joint minor in Computer Science and Mathematics from the College of Arts and Sciences.
