Netflix Releases Premiere Date and First Look Images for A Tourists Guide to Love

Netflix today released the first looks for A Tourists Guide To Love, the first international production to film in Vietnam since the pandemic. Set to premiere globally on April 21 (previously announced as April 27), the romance film features an international cast including producer and star Rachael Leigh Cook, Vietnamese-American actor Scott Ly, as well as popular local actors Meritorious Artist L Thi n and rising talent Quinn Tr c Tr n.

A Tourist's Guide To Love follows a travel executive (Rachel Leigh Cook) who, after an unexpected breakup, decides to accept an assignment to go undercover and learn about the tourist industry in Vietnam. Along the way, she finds adventure and romance with her Vietnamese expat tour guide (Scott Ly) when they decide to reroute the bus in order to explore life and love off the beaten path.

The first look images showcase many exquisite locales in Vietnam to a global audience. These include the sparkling Thu B n river in H i An, the ancient and majestic M S n sanctuary, the bustling B n Th nh market, and a peaceful village in the H Giang countryside.

Vietnam is insanely beautiful, and the landscape is so incredibly diverse, and thats why I think its so important that we set the movie in so many different places," says Cook. "The topography varies so greatly and its such an asset to the movie and to everyone who is able to see it.

The first look collection also teases the rich and vibrant Vietnamese culture reflected in the romance film. In a festive T t celebration, Cook dons a traditional o d i', while Meritorious Artist L Thi n welcomes international guests into her cozy village home, dancing joyfully and filling the room with warmth and festive cheer.

Sharing her inspiration behind the script, Vietnamese-American writer Eirene Tran Donohue said: It was really important to me to tell a story about life in Vietnam now. One that was full of joy and love and celebration. I wanted to change the conversation about Vietnam, to highlight it as a modern thriving country whose stories are worthy of being told.

A Tourists Guide to Love will be released globally on April 21, only on Netflix. Images can be downloaded here.
