New Other Voices Series Courage | Begins this Thursday with live stream on RT.IE

RT have today announced that Courage, an upcoming production from Other Voices which promises inspired and uplifting musical performances from talented names in the music industry, will be available for audiences via RT .ie/culture, RT 2, RT Radio 1 and the RT Player.

The project is supported by the Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, Intel and RT

Beginning with a live stream this Thursday, which will be online at RT .ie/culture, the series will feature musical performances from a number of popular cultural locations, aimed at lifting spirits during the Covid 19 crisis.

Ye Vagabonds will kick off proceedings at 8pm this Thursday, April 23, with a performance that can be viewed via RT .ie/culture and on Other Voices' YouTube + Facebook accounts. Courage will also be shown on RT 2 from the 7th of May every Thursday at 23:30, and be available via the RT Player following each live stream.

Over the next four weeks, Other Voices will film nine new performances by solo artists or duets, and will present two of these per week on Tuesdays and Thursdays via Live Stream.

The remaining acts performing as part of Other Voices' Courage series will be announced in the coming weeks.



NOTES:

The shows will be filmed in strictly controlled locations including Whelan's and The National Gallery of Ireland in Dublin. Adhering to public health regulations means there will be no live audience in the locations where the artists are filmed, with only the artists and essential crew on set.

About Ye Vagabonds

Brothers Bri an and Diarmuid Mac Gloinn grew up playing music together around their hometown of Carlow. In October 2017 they launched their debut, self-titled album to great acclaim. Ye Vagabonds comprises of harmony rich folk music, influenced by Irish traditional music, Appalachian singing, and the 1960's folk revival. It includes ten mellow tracks weaved with thoughtful lyrics, thickly layered with strings and droning harmonium. Their second album, The Hare's Lament, was released on 22nd March 2019 to huge critical acclaim. In 2019 they won the BBC Radio Two Folk Award for Best Traditional Track, and they swept the boards at the RTE Radio One Folk Awards where they won Best Traditional Track, Best Group, and Best Album.
