Suppliers Day: ZEI Presents Supplier Award to Herus Quarzglas

OBERKOCHEN/Germany, 15.06.2015.

ZEISS has honored Heraeus Quarzglas GmbH & Co. KG with the Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology business groups Supplier Award for outstanding services. This was the second time that Heraeus Quarzglas received the award. Dr. Hermann Gerlinger, Member of the Executive Board of Carl Zeiss AG and Head of Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology business group, made the presentation to Heinz Fabian, Managing Director of Heraeus Quarzglas, at the 8th Suppliers Day. The Hanau-based company set a new record in the annual supplier assessments. Gerlinger said: "Our partnership with Heraeus Quarzglas goes back to the 1980s and has grown steadily. The Supplier Award once again highlights the fact that Heraeus Quarzglas meets the highest standards, not only in quality and technological competence but also in on-time delivery and reliability."

An important milestone in the companies collaboration was a partnership agreement signed in 2007. Since then, Heraeus Quarzglas has numbered among the Supply Chain Partners of ZEISSs Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology business group, thereby making a critically important contribution to these technologies. Managing Director Heinz Fabian sees the Supplier Award as a motivator for the future: "For us, ZEISS is an especially challenging customer whose complex technologies demand the highest performance. We have used this incentive to drive excellence in our own company a key to our success."

The Supplier Award is part of the business groups's strategic supplier management program. Dr. Hendrik Seliger, Head of Supply Chain Management within Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology, explains: "As global markets change ever faster and technical standards keep rising, we are faced with new challenges that we aim to address with our strong supplier network. Our supplier management program is the crucial foundation." The Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology business group holds annual discussions with strategic suppliers at the Suppliers Day.
