Accedo brings Sky Online and Snap by Sky to Roku devices 19 December 2014

Accedo, the global market leader in TV application solutions, has together with Sky Deutschland developed the Sky Online and Snap applications for their new Sky Online TV Box.
The box has been developed in conjunction with leading US streaming company, Roku, which makes the most used streaming media player in the US. The Sky Online TV Box provides customers across Germany and Austria with an engaging and intuitive access to Sky Online and Snap. Sky Online provides a range of premium content, including live sports, blockbuster movies, and popular TV series. The streaming box will also give customers access to Sky Deutschland's online library Snap, offers thousands of titles on demand from the Sky Collection.
We are seeing a major trend from pay TV providers to launch their own devices to maximise access to a fast growing multiscreen consumer sector. The Roku Powered program is a great example of how such providers can go to market quickly, commented Michael Lantz, CEO, Accedo. The introduction of the Sky Online TV Box adds a flexible, user-friendly and affordable option to stream directly on TV screens the best selection of premium content from Sky Online and Snap. Together with Accedo we were able to launch both apps on the streaming box offering a best-in-class user experience, commented Alice Mascia, Vice President Strategy, at Sky.

The Sky Online TV box was launched across Germany on 18th December 2014.
