The nominations for the British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA) are in and the highest grossing biopic to date in South Africa, Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, received a nomination for Outstanding British Film. Directed by Justin Chadwick from the UK, the movie is co-produced by South African Anant Singh.

Alfonso Cuar n s Gravity leads the pack with 11 nominations followed by 12 Years a Slave and American Hustle, each nominated in 10 categories.
