BBC S&PP creating new production facilities for Endemol

BBC Studios and Post Production is designing and building new production facilities for Endemol at Bristol's TV studio complex, The Bottle Yard Studios. BBC S&PP will continue to provide technical services and crew for Endemol's game show, Deal or No Deal, broadcast on Channel 4.

The 3000sqm unit, part of The Bottle Yard Studios complex, is being developed from an empty warehouse into a post production facility for the game show, currently based at Bristol Paintworks. The technical fit-out is being delivered in just four weeks in time for series 10, which starts recording at the end of October 2013. As well as technical facilities, BBC S&PP is providing audience-holding, costume and make-up areas, dressing rooms, production offices, a catering area and edit suites.

BBC Studios and Post Production has helped us find a fantastic new home for Deal or No Deal and together we're pulling out all the stops to ensure what was an empty warehouse is a fully functioning TV studio in time for recording the new series in October, said Clare Pickering, director of Operations at Endemol.

Equipment from Paintworks will be moved to The Bottle Yard Studios, including vision mixers and Hitachi cameras provided by Gearhouse Broadcast, a flown lighting truss provided by Elstree Light and Power and lighting provided by Film and TV Services. BBC S&PP's own kit at the site comprises a Studer mixing console, camera pedestals, SR decks and XDCAM decks.
