Bluefish444, manufacturer of the industry's highest-quality uncompressed 4K/2K/HD/SD SDI video cards, introduced and announced the immediate availability of the Epoch | 4K Supernova S video card at IBC 2013.

The Epoch | 4K Supernova S has 4 bi-directional BNC connectors, each supporting Level A or B 3G-SDI, HD-SDI, SD-SDI or DVB/ASI as input or output in various combinations. A 5th input BNC connector supports bi-level or tri-level genlock, 3G-SDI, HD-SDI, SD-SDI, DVB/ASI, AES3ID or LTC.

Epoch | 4K Supernova S contains all the features and benefits of Bluefish444's flagship Epoch | 4K Supernova model, plus the following extra features:

Two thirds length PCIe specification at 185mm length ensuring broader compatibility with a wide range of shortened video servers

Sixth BNC connector to HD SDI preview an SDI output

Option for Linear Time Code I/O via a second PCIe shield.

These features make Epoch | 4K Supernova S perfect for 4K SDI I/O or 3D 4:4:4 film workflows, 3D graphics, virtual sets and ingest & playout server applications.

Like the rest of the Epoch product range, Epoch | 4K Supernova S is a modular design allowing customers to add extra functionality to meet their requirements. Epoch | 4K Supernova S can be loaded with a Jetstream module for pristine hardware up, down and cross conversion between 2K/HD/SD SDI.

The Epoch | 4K Supernova S comes bundled with a range of free software plug ins on the Windows platform including Adobe Creative Cloud, Avid Media Composer , Assimilate SCRATCH & SCRATCH LAB and Drastic Technologies Media. The widely adopted Bluefish444 Symmetry DI & 3D I/O software is bundled free together with optional Bluefish444 Fluid software modules for 4K Preview, DNxHD ingest/encode, virtual VTR and H264 encoding.
