China Digital Culture Group has chosen Sony to deliver 4K over IP

China Digital Culture Group Co., Ltd (CDC) and Sony Professional Solutions China (PSC) celebrated together in a recent signing ceremony for the procurement of a IP 4K/HD 8 channel OB van. CDC has invested in Sonys IP Live Production system and SR Live for HDR workflow, to provide them the capability for HDR/SDR simultaneous production and help them deliver on their mission to provide high-quality international digital cultural content for their customers.

CDC has built a platform, providing channel and customer diversification services, content management as well as information consultancy related to digital music, sports broadcasting, film and television content. Being the licensed music & sports contents provider, CDC has established long term and close relationships with the major telecommunication operators and television stations in China.

This investment centres on Sonys IP Live Production solutions, with 8 channels of HDC-4300 cameras, capable of extending to cover 10 channels. Also used is the latest XVS-7000 multi-format 4K/IP switcher, empowered by 2 sets of PWS-4500 servers, supporting 4-channel 4K playback and recording, as well as HD playback. The monitors include the 30-inch 4K TRIMASTER EL OLED master monitor, BVM-X300, and 30-inch 4K TRIMASTER LCD professional monitor, PVM-X300. Sony IP Live production system provides dual network ports to any device connected, and through configuration of dual switches and dual network management servers, the system achieves true IP dual network structure, synchronisation, as well as seamless switching of video and audio signals, thus assuring high security and high liability in live broadcasting. The system also supports switching between a number of signal formats, such as SDI and IP.

The system provides unique and full HDR/SDR simultaneous production, including S-Log3/BT.2020. With the help of precise HDR/SDR synchronisation camera and Sonys HDRC-4000 HDR converter unit, the system can realise the entire process of 4K production from acquisition, site switching and live broadcasting, able to output signals in various formats, such as PQ, HLG, SDR, HD SDR accordingly
