Miami HEAT, Florida Panthers, Orlando Magic, University of Miami join leading vendors for a day of gameday-production talk in South Florida
The 2026 SVG Venues & Teams Summit convened Wednesday at Miami's Kaseya Center, putting the in-venue production community inside one of the industry's most talked-about renovation projects. In addition to a full tour of the HEAT's recently renovated arena, nearly 200 attendees were treated to a full day of panels, spotlight sessions, and case studies.
Team executives, venue-technology leaders, and manufacturers worked through the issues defining gameday production today: IP-based control rooms, cloud and AI workflows, connectivity, content velocity, and the rising expectations of fans in the building and on their phones.
Inside the Kaseya Center Renovation
The Summit's opening session, A Beacon on Biscayne Bay, turned the spotlight on the host building. Staffers from the Miami HEAT described the renovation from concept to completion, addressing how the project reshaped the in-person experience and positioned the organization's technology and production operations for the long term.

The conversation, moderated by SVG Senior Editor Kristian Hern ndez, covered the decision-making behind the technology stack and the operational realities of building a venue for capabilities that did not exist at the turn of the century.
HEAT Reduce Road Transfer Times With Cloud Bonding
Engman returned for a sponsored case study alongside Miami HEAT Media Asset and Services Manager Erick Garcia and MASV Chief Revenue Officer Gene Villeneuve, detailing how the HEAT production team has cut video-transfer times on the road by 85%.
The session focused on MASV's cloud-bonding technology and how the production team moves roughly 1 TB of game footage from any arena without being throttled by house networks. The payoff, the presenters noted, is measured in content velocity: faster turnaround for social and digital, a shorter path to monetization.
Panthers Spotlight: Documenting Back-to-Back Championships
Florida Panthers VP, Digital Marketing, Jason Wise delivered a Teams Spotlight on covering consecutive Stanley Cup championships. With three Final appearances in four years and titles in 2023-24 and 2024-25, the Panthers' digital and social team has spent multiple postseasons operating at peak volume.
Wise addressed the challenges and successes of that stretch, the creative approach behind the content that reached both local and distant fans, and the effect the championship runs have had on the broader Panthers fanbase.
Cloud, AI, Automation Move From Pilot to Practice
Future-Forward Tech: The Impact of Cloud, AI, and Automation brought together four suppliers to assess how far these workflows have penetrated day-to-day team and venue operations.
On the panel were Lumen VP, Media and Entertainment, Vyvx Broadcast Solutions, Rick Gibson; Ross Video Broadcast Production Specialist, Rocket Surgery, Amanda Rutledge; Telestream Strategic Account Director, Sports, Venues and Trucks, Arin Segal; and NEP Group SVP, Product Strategy and Growth, Connected Solutions, Steven Thorpe.
The discussion centered on where cloud, AI, machine learning, and automation are genuinely embedded in gameday operations versus where adoption remains aspirational, and how teams and venues have adjusted their staffing and processes accordingly.
Miami-Area Teams on Gameday Content
Hern ndez moderated the Fun in the Miami Sun panel, which offered a look at how South Florida organizations build gameday shows and social feeds that reflect the market. Florida Panthers VP, Game Entertainment and Operations, Mike Masino and University of Miami Director, Marketing and Event Experience, Megan Siebers discussed content strategy inside and outside the venue and the balance between serving longtime season-ticket holders and welcoming new fans.
Manufacturers on Cameras, Lenses, Connectivity
The afternoon kicked off with a panel focused on the technologies operating outside the control room: the cameras, lenses, and connectivity underpinning what fans see.
Verizon Business Group Global MD, Sports, Media and Live Events, Josh Arensberg; Appear Chief Technical Architect Geoff Bowen; Jacksonville Jaguars Senior Director, Gameday and Event Production, Carlos Caceres; Canon Senior Technical Specialist Paul McAniff; and Lawo North America Sales Director Tony Staires examined shallow-depth-of-field deployments, super-slow-motion and high-frame-rate workflows, and the reliability demands of in-venue connectivity - and how vendors are keeping pace with the rate of change.
Orlando Magic Move to IP at Kia Center
After 15 years in a baseband control room, the Orlando Magic have made the jump to IP. In a case study sponsored by Ross Video and moderated by Hern ndez, Orlando Magic Senior Director, Broadcast Technology and Services, David Storm outlined the buildout of a new IP-driven control room at Kia Center, the installation of new LED displays throughout the venue, and the reimagined tech stack now supporting the fan experience.
Storm addressed the challenges and successes of the project, the production workflows it enables, and where the operation goes next.
A tour of all the production facilities at Miami's Kaseya Center was a highlight of the 2026 SVG Venues & Teams Summit.HEAT Spotlight: Captu
