TURNER BROADCASTING ANNOUNCES PROMOTIONS IN ITS DISTRIBUTION DIVISION
John Harran Named Senior Vice President, Business & Product Development
Michael Quigley Elevated To Senior Vice President, Brand Distribution
Turner Broadcasting announced today executive promotions in the Turner Network Sales (TNS) division, the domestic distribution, sales and marketing arm of Turner. John Harran takes on a newly created role as Senior Vice President of Business & Product Development, up from Vice President of Business Development & Multi-Platform Distribution. Michael Quigley has been elevated to Senior Vice President of Brand Distribution, up from Vice President, Business Development & Multi-Platform Distribution. Both will report to Jennifer Mirgorod, Executive Vice President of Brand Distribution.
In his new role, Harran is responsible for the distribution strategy for Turner's TV Everywhere initiative including securing partnerships and revenue opportunities across IP delivery platforms and device manufacturers such as Google, You Tube, Apple, Sony, Connected TVs, and social media. Additionally, he will explore distribution for Turner content with partners in the EST, SVOD, and OTT spaces, as well as help develop and distribute advanced product opportunities, such as March Madness Live and CNN GO, across Turner's portfolio of networks and brands. Harran also oversees Turner Private Networks where he is responsible for creating additional revenue-generating opportunities for Turners out-of-home content business.
In his elevated role, Michael Quigley will oversee all account management responsibilities and strategic content distribution initiatives with major linear affiliate partners such as Comcast, Cablevision, Verizon, and Brighthouse Networks. Quigley will be tasked with identifying revenue-generating content opportunities for the Turner brands with MVPD partners including developing and launching product enhancements, expanding linear and on demand content distribution, expanding marketing opportunities and assisting in deal renewals and contract negotiations.
John and Michael are skilled leaders with tremendous experience in the distribution industry, proven track records of innovating and executing strategic business initiatives across Turner's brands, as well as a deep knowledge of the digital and technology industries which are imperative in the changing TV landscape, said Mirgorod. I have complete confidence that Michael and John will implement creative revenue-generating business strategies that help drive our business forward and bring added value to Turner's portfolio on all platforms.
