To demonstrate voice services over LTE, improved network coverage and capacity in dense areas, better customer experience management and 15% improved service quality
3-day demonstrations at Cape Town International Convention Center from 11-13 Nov
Operators and media can see the demonstrations at Nokia meeting room # 1.74
Cape Town, South Africa - Nokia Networks will demonstrate a wide range* of its mobile broadband technologies including Voice over LTE (VoLTE) and small cells, and Customer Experience Management (CEM) as well as managed services including Predictive Operations during the 17th annual conference AfricaCom 2014 at the Cape Town International Convention Center (CTICC) from 11-13 November.
Jan Liebenberg, head of Customer Solutions Management Africa, Nokia Networks, said: Our technology demonstrations will show how operators can tap new revenue models while tackling the competition from OTT players through VoLTE, improve network capacity and coverage in indoors and dense areas through Small Cells, boost their customers experience through CEM, and provide the best service quality through managed services - saving operating and capital costs.
VoLTE** technology in operators networks enables VoLTE compatible handsets to connect high-definition (HD) voice calls with faster call setup time, while simultaneously accessing ultra-fast 4G data services over the LTE* network. Nokia Networks VoLTE technology based on its IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) enables VoLTE functionality even in a most complex multi-vendor LTE network. VoLTE supports higher spectral efficiency, saves operating costs through network simplification and optimization while providing better voice call quality, and new opportunities for more sophisticated voice-based services. Nokia Networks team of services experts supports operators with planning and implementing VoLTE in their networks. For more information, follow this link.
Small Cells demonstration will show how the technology can help operators benefit from combining macro networks with small cells, including ever-present Wi-Fi, in order to achieve the best coverage and capacity needed to meet their increased demands for mobile broadband. Nokia Networks will showcase its Flexi Zone solution, which allows operators to build mobile broadband capacity by deploying clusters of access points in hot spots and hot zones. The companys Flexi Zone micro and pico cells can initially be deployed as stand-alone base stations and then be migrated to a full Flexi Zone as hot spots grow into hot zones, saving a further 70-90% total cost of ownership (TCO) compared to other small cells solutions available on the market, as the other solutions will require replacement or upgrade to address the hot zone needs in the future. Nokias Services for HetNets helps operators manage complexity and deploy highly performing heterogeneous networks. For more information, follow this link.
Nokias CEM offering is an end-to-end approach that helps operators analyze, act upon and monetize the wealth of customer data available across their organization. Its CEM portfolio includes products and professional services which draw data from multiple sources, including the network, service and device performance, real-time subscriber experience and operator services. This helps operators support end-user demands at the right time and the right place, increasing the individual communications experience for every single customer. Nokia is the first vendor to market a productized CEM umbrella solution, enabling operators to gain a single, integrated view of their customer experience at all its affiliates across regions or countries, and become more experience-driven organizations. CEM use case demonstrations will include Umbrella CEM, Device Portfolio Analyzer, CEM for Net Promoter Score, and CEM for traffic steering analytics. For more information, follow this link.
Nokias Predictive Operations is the worlds first managed services for predicting mobile broadband service degradations 48 hours in advance, so they can be fixed before subscribers notice quality issues. The demonstration will show how future service degradation is identified with up to 95% accuracy, and improves service quality by 15%. The system analyzes big data patterns to support the human decision making with algorithms that monitor those patterns. An anomaly in those patterns leads to predictive alerts, which enable fixing issues before they affect subscribers. For more information, follow this link.
