I Declare This The Best IBC Ever!! Wow. Simply Wow.

IBC2013 is behind us but the work to respond to all the visitors to the stand is just beginning. The response to our trusted object technology, our workflow integrations (Avid, Adobe, Autodesk etc) and the Petabyte deal (blue petabyte deal sign the most photographed at the show!) have been simply overwhelming. Then of course there is the reaction to the IBC Sports event, #petaman and the #omstigimp that's a blog post all on its own!

This year we needed a bigger stand, not just to accommodate our amazing partners (GLOOKAST, Vidispine and Cantemo) but also to cope with the extra @Object_Matrix staff needed to fulfill the pre-booked meetings. For the first time at a tradeshow we had 5 employees and our excellent man in France on the stand, all demoing from dusk till dawn from Friday to Monday. In terms of successes we signed 7 new resellers, 4 new technical partnerships and progressed a huge number of existing and new deals. Simply put, we could not be happier with the whole event.

Whilst the buzz from the show seemed to be on 4K (understandably when looking at the images on the Samsung stand .. diet Coke!) for us the chatter was about the petabyte deal, the integrations with exciting technology partners like GLOOKAST and Adobe, integrations with well established storage and MAM platforms and also our MatrixStore API. DropSpot and the Forms interface also gave many visitors ideas how a nearline storage platform can be shared amongst many departments and workflows. It seems after 10 years of slog our technology is being recognised for its core strengths of resilience, scalability and flexibility. We might have been early to market with object storage and APIs but we have the heritage, the skills and the customers to prove we made the right choices back in 2003.

For Object Matrix IBC and NAB continue to be the key tradeshows to have a presence, the quality of the meetings just keeps improving. We also get to connect with some very very good friends. We will continue to support more local events such as SATIS in Paris and Broadcast and Cable in Brazil and we are branching out into new markets including Asia and the Middle East. Look out world!
